Discussion Boards - Out & About

I've just realised that the questions asked on our profile are different to before, for instance the question that asked about Work and Career has been replaced by one that says : Where have you lived or would like to live? How do you spend your time now or what would you like to be doing in the future? hmm time to review my profile!

Not only that, but where some questions used to restrict answers to a pre-defined list, they now allow free-text entry. So anyone who has not changed their profile since the new website, their answers may look more pedestrian compared to someone who joined recently!

But that is the least of my problems with the new website! There are many bugs with the new system, and severl aspects of functionality have actually been removed. So at the moment whilst the new site looks flashier it is unfortuntely actually harder to use.

I've returned on a free trial - to test out the site I guess. I already like the fact that you can see immediately who is commenting on these boards, and that you can send a wave ( other sites call it a wink).e
I use to like scrolling through the chat online list to see who is online I've found it very slow to load I guess its still early days. I will now take your advice Stuart and revisit some of my profile answers!

I have notice that there are now more people using the online chat since the relaunch

yes the time is now 2303 on Saturday 31 July and there are 170 people online - I think that CC had a big "recruitment" campaign to get back former members as the site was relaunching

tim - you can actually get on the chat? mine is 'not connected'. Not so good seen as I just paid my subscription so, along with replying to emails, I could use chat. but it seems the new boards layout means people use the discussion boards to chat as a group which I really like. It gives the place a sense of community.

Why does new mail now come in at the bottom of the screen? Also you can no longer see postings from the person you are writing to nor view their profile at the same time. Mmmmmmmmm must check my profile... Hopefully the Admin Team will take note!

I think that the CC team are still working on the system - I can see on the screen that 152 are online but I have not tried to chat I don't know if it works.

It is curiuos wht there are so many people are on line now, particularly as the service at present is not very good. Though hopefully will improve soon. I am still not connected to im and finding it irritating.

I love the new site. Its a much better layout for your profile, easier to read and more attractive. I like the new questions and the fact you aren't tied to predefined answers. Only thing that could do with altering (and this is being very petty) is there is no 'curly' hair option, just wavy.

Well done CC... much better professional look to it now
