I recently looked in local Christian shop and realised I've never heard of most of the Christian artists. Can anyone recommend any since shop doesn't have facility to listen before buying? I tend to like fairly lively stuff for bands and female vocals similar to Enya.

Wow, what an old thread!

Just in case 'No Photo - Unknown, Lance' is still out there....

Enya's sister, Moya Brennan produces her own solo albums now. She was the lead singer of Clannad (which Enya was in to start with). She's a Christian and does really good haunting almost-Enya-style Christian-focussed songs.

Don't know why I'm writing this... I'm sitting in my lounge surrounded by mess which I should just start tidying up, now, get on with it, NOW

Hmmm...I tried not to make my uni ID photo look like a WANTED poster!

It'll only get messy again! I have a poncho that I hide things under when it gets too much. If you can't see it.........

Chris Tomlin, Delirious......................................

Most of the artist with Worship Central have MySpace sites with samples, I wouldn't be surprised if this was generally true.

This Christmas I purchased a CD called Christmas Heart of Worship - it was lovely. What was particularly good was a track called 'Mary did you know' I love this so much - its by Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene. I know its not new (circa 1991) I had not heard it though and I played it endlessly. Come back christmas please! the other CD i like playing is Aaron Keyes and it's titled - Dwell.

To sum up worship leaders over the last decades you could put it as this:

80's - Graham Kendrick
90's - Matt Redman
00's - Tim Hughes
10's - Phil Wickham (perhaps?)

I like Jimmy Swaggart and his gospel piano. Some of his music is on www.youtube.com
