Media Interest

Christian Connection in the Media

Christian Connection, since it was first launched at the end of 2000 has generated major media and continuing media interest. The most significant event was being featured on the front page of the Daily Telegraph in April 2001 – with the headline,  "Seek and ye shall find a wife on the internet".

We have been featured in the National and Christian press, and have done several radio interviews every year – especially around Valentine’s Day – and even the odd TV interview.

Click below on the year – to read extracts of the many articles over the years – and see below for some of the highlights.

The Pros and Cons of being in the eye of the media

Of course it's important to be in the media. People hear about the site, look it up, tell their friends and join, which is great for all of our members. Coverage has a great impact on the site and we appreciate those journalists who have taken an interest in what we do.

The down side is that one can never control what gets printed and stories can get sensationalised and facts skewed to suit a particular "angle". We have turned down a few offers of features where we felt the site or its members could be misrepresented or trivialised.

Privacy and Responsibility

Protecting our member's privacy is of prime importance to us. When members help with press interviews, we ensure their names don't go up in lights, unless they are happy about it!

Can you help?

The media like stories about people who have met via the site, got engaged or married. They are though also interested in talking to members about why they want a Christian partner, what makes Christian relationships different from others and what are some of the issues facing single Christians today.

If you have a story to tell, do think about sharing it. And it might encourage other people to use the site, or rediscover their hope about meeting somebody Christian whom they really care about.

If you work for or know any editors or feature writers from the Christian or national press and can put a word in for us please do. If you are organising a conference and are looking for speakers, tell us.

For any of the above please contact us at media@christianconnection.co.uk

Finding a match made in heaven

"There was a time when computer dating agencies were seen as a last resort for no-hopers desperate to find a mate.
But today, far from being the final stop in the quest for true love, the internet is now the first port of call for many single people in Britain."
