Your Mailbox has changed

Waves are now integrated into your inbox. Any wave you reply to becomes part of a new conversation

Why the changes?

Waves are good. Conversations are better!
Some members told us they couldn't easily spot new waves in their inbox, which meant waves weren't getting any response. The new layout makes it clearer to identify new waves and respond with a message. The flow is more natural, as waves become part of a conversation.

How do I use the new mailbox?

New emails appear the same as before. New waves appear like this:

As before, you can respond to waves either by replying with a message or by waving back:

Send reply and wave back buttons

1. Reply with a message (recommended) - Respond with a message and the wave will become part of a new conversation.

2. Wave back - Wave back and the wave will remain in your inbox. You can return later to reply with a message or permanently delete it by clicking the cross icon in the top right.
Note: you can only wave back once.

Where has the subject gone?

Subjects in messages are now optional. This means you can send an email without writing a subject. Just click “Add a subject” if you want to include one:

If you omit a subject, it will appear in your inbox as “Conversation with Username123” (for example):

NB. You cannot change the subject of a conversation once it has started.

How can I see when a message has been read?

As before, you can see when a message has been sent and read. Just open a conversation and move your mouse over the message to reveal the dates. You can now also see when a wave has been read:

What is a wave?

A wave is an informal way to initiate contact - similar to a poke on Facebook.

I can't send email

This could be for one of two reasons:
